Impound Release Hours

Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00pm

Closed Weekends and Holidays

If it is necessary to pick up your vehicle outside of these hours, there will be an after hours release charge added to your impound fee’s.

After Hours releases are by appointment only!

 

Items required for release.

Please contact our dispatch office for specific information on exactly what you will need to retrieve your vehicle. We say this because each situation may be unique

  • Valid Photo ID. If the registered owner does not have a license, you will need to being a licensed driver with you if you intend to have the vehicle driven from the impound lot. That driver will also need to show his/her license.
  • Current Registration
  • Proof of Insurance (if vehicle was impounded by Sheriff and will be driven out of impound) 
  • If your vehicle was impounded by the Boulder County Sheriff you will need to verify that there is no hold on your vehicle.
  • In the case of the Sheriff Impound we will need to photo copy your License, Valid Registration and Proof of Insurance and fax that information to the Sheriff's office.
  • If the registered owner is unable to pick up the vehicle you will need a notarized letter from the owner (with his/her signature) authorizing you to pick up the vehicle. This letter will need to identify the vehicle and the name of the person authorized to pick up the vehicle.
  • No proof of ownership will result in no release.  Having the keys or being able to identify the beer can's in the back seat, does not prove ownership Laughing
  • WE ACCEPT CASH ONLY ALL IMPOUNDS.

Special Note:  We understand and sympathize with the frustration of having a vehicle impounded.  We also understand that it is an un-planned and un-scheduled expense.  However, our staff did not create the situation that caused your vehicle to be impounded and therefore appreciate your courtesy to our staff when picking up your vehicle.  If you can not control yourself while picking up your vehicle, you will be requested to leave and return with an officer to insure public order.
